UPDATE! UPDATE!! UPDATE!!!
At long last, I have gone to Box Office Mojo and culled all the weekly releases from January 1980 to December 1989.
I tossed them all into a spreadsheet, and then marked off a quick glance at what I knew I'd already seen.
Here are the totals:
Total 80s movies (not including TV movies, direct-to-video, most foreign releases, most documentaries, most limited-releases art house/art school films, music videos, etc.): 1723
How many I've seen: 902
Remaining: 851
How many can actually be streamed: ???
